Easter (Christian/Catholic)
Easter, celebrated by Eastern Orthodox Christians, commemorates the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, as described in the New Testament of the Bible. It is the most significant and joyous feast in the Christian liturgical year. Eastern Orthodox Easter is often celebrated with special services, including the Midnight Office, the Paschal Divine Liturgy, and the Agape Vespers. The Paschal Divine Liturgy, held on Easter Sunday, is the most important service of the year for Eastern Orthodox Christians, as it celebrates the resurrection of Christ and the fulfillment of salvation. Believers exchange greetings of "Christ is risen!" to which the response is "Truly, he is risen!" Easter is a time of spiritual renewal, joy, and hope for Eastern Orthodox Christians.
